Kirtland

This was what I remembered from when I was here as a teenager, but nothing else looked the same.
This was a really pretty spot.
Notice the pose on Tommy. You may have noticed this is a familiar pose for him. We're having fun seeing how often he stands just like this. Michael is holding up his eyelids because of the sun, of course.

Dave's the only one who didn't change into more comfy clothes. He thinks it looks funny.

This is the School of Prophets where the Savior came.

Well, we tried to make Sacrament Meeting, but we missed it due to "Ditzy Dolores," our GPS device we borrowed from a friend. So, we went straight for the church sites. We started with the Newel K. Whitney store and house where Joseph and Emma Smith stayed with them. It has changed so much since I was there as a kid. The Church has done such a great job. The Sister missionaries were great with the kids, keeping their interest. It's fun to watch the different reactions of each of our kids. Tommy is analyzing how the cabins were made and how much of it was original; Bella is eating up every single word said; Rachel is making friends everywhere she goes...also had quite a few abstract questions; Michael flirted with the Sisters; and Jane was her normal cheerful self. The photo of the stream is where the Saints were baptized.

Then we headed for the Kirtland Temple which is just beautiful. It is interesting to note, however, that the children were able to feel the difference in the spirit felt in the different visitors centers and from the guides. Thank you, Sister Missionaries!
