Sometimes I was forced to sit in the back with Jane. I always felt like I was being punished....

Day 1
The excitement was almost more than we could bear....finally the long awaited road trip was here. (Truthfully, I was a little worried the trip wouldn't live up to the expectations.)
Dave was able to pack everything we would need in our little mini-van, nicknamed 'white trash' for the occasion. We left at 1pm, looking at a 4 hour drive, thinking to have plenty of time at the KOA...then we went through Chicago. We knew there would be a slow down, but we thought we timed it right. We ended up on the wrong freeway, in road construction, and after a screaming baby, mom going crazy, kids asking 'are we there yet?' continueously, 8 hours later, we arrived at the first KOA...in the pouring rain. Is anyone having fun yet?
We ate dinner at a local Denny's to cheer everyone up.
